Alternate Excitement
This week's trip to the doctor ended the same as it did last Monday. We thought that an extra week would lead to greater dilation and an opportunity to (shudder) scrape the membrane, but alas, no. For Samantha this means another week of restless sleep and extreme discomfort. For Sheridan this means another week to practice trying to karate-kick one of mommy's ribs in half. For Ryan this means the thrill of having a baby will have to wait and I'll retreat into my memories to retrieve some small dose of excitement.
For starters I fondly recalled the time I was a contestant on the wildly popular game show, "Point at the Donkey!" Here I am advancing past the first round:

Sadly, in round two I was fooled into pointing at a marmoset that was afflicted with elephantitis. It looked like a donkey to me, and the studio audience gasped when it was revealed I was incorrect. It wasn't a complete loss though, as I received a six-pack of Glade Plug Ins refills and the home version of "Point at the Donkey!"
That happy day might keep my mind occupied until midweek but I needed more memories to distract me from Sheridan's lack of birthing. I flopped down on the sofa, closed my eyes, and searched my brain for more thrilling memories. In only a few minutes I was chuckling aloud as my mind drifted back to the day I had to bail Sox out of a Mexican prison. He was trying to raise the extra funds to bring Chico to the United States and was caught smuggling bananas across the border. Seeking not to offend his captors, I appeared at the prison under the alias "Ryan Meyeriguez."

When Sox and I got back to the house we discovered that Shoulders had drank an entire bottle of Kamorkbrand Facial Modifier. Christmas Frog was a little jumpy, but because Shoulder-mork still smelled like regular Shoulders, he was willing to put up with it.

With such a wealth of mental imagery I think I can make it to next week.
